Sark is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, between England and France. Sark has a population of only 500, but nonetheless has its own legal system and parliament, and is part of the British Commonwealth.
Sark is a tourist destination, and the island attracts more than 60,000 tourists each year. Sark is an idyllic place to holiday or indeed to live. Free from the light pollution of the British Isles and continental Europe, Sark was designated the world's first 'dark sky island' in 2011.
